January 3, 2024: Happy New Year! 🎇

Let’s get this new year started.

I’m so excited about 2024. I have so many goals and dreams for this year. This includes maybe getting married, since it’s a leap year and I’ve heard those are lucky years and the best ones to get married in. The budget sheets will let us know if that’s possible, lol.

Now you’ve probably seen a lot of content regarding finances. Whether that be personal or business finances, both can bring a lot of emotions and feelings. You might be thinking:

  • Is my current bookkeeping system okay for my business?

  • Am I tracking what needs to be tracked?

  • Is there an easier way to do my bookkeeping?

  • How do I add my business-use-of-home to my bookkeeping software?

  • How will I know what I owe in GST/HST?

  • Did I hit the 30K mark to apply for GST/HST?

  • Do I even have time anymore to track my bookkeeping manually?

  • How can I edit my current system without messing anything up?

Those are all valid questions that can involve some anxious feelings.

I can’t tell you to not feel this way, but I can tell you that you have me. That’s why I started Open Book. To be a lending hand when business owners are feeling stressed with their numbers/system. I can help guide you with the proper tools and I can also be the person to take on that anxiety and stress if you can’t find the energy or the time to do it yourself. Both are very valid choices, and that’s why I offer both because I know our financial situations are all different and can sometimes allow us to choose one solution over the other.

I’m the business owner that…

Would need a step-by-step guide to help me with my system and understand my numbers…
If you’re the business owner who has a basic spreadsheet that you made yourself or a Quickbooks subscription that you haven’t fully utilized to its full potential you’ll greatly benefit from my Empowering Bookkeeping DIYers guide. In this guide, you’ll learn when to register for a GST/HST account, what licenses/permits you’ll need for your Canadian business, what expenses you can claim for your business, and so much more. You can sit down with a cup of coffee and follow this step-by-step guide to feel confident about your bookkeeping as you enter 2024.

Would need a Zoom session to ask questions…
Do you have some questions that you’d like answered in a Zoom call instead of going through the guide and wouldn’t mind paying a session fee? (I totally get it, time is key). Then this would be perfect for you. You can ask questions about when your income tax is due, if you should register for GST/HST, finding out if Quickbooks is right for you, and so much more.

Would need a new bookkeeping system and a customized to-do list to follow each time I organize my books…

It’ll allow you to have a fully functioning bookkeeping system and a checklist to pull out each time you decide to do your bookkeeping. Would need to have your past year’s bookkeeping completed/reviewed…
I understand life can get overwhelming, and staying on top of bookkeeping can be challenging. That's why I'm here to offer affordable pricing plans specifically designed for completing or reviewing your past year's financial records.

To kickstart this process, I conduct a thorough system analysis, reviewing your bank accounts, current systems (such as Quickbooks or Excel), and payment platforms. This analysis pinpoints areas for improvement to ensure your system operates effectively. Even if you choose not to proceed with the project, you'll receive an invaluable document detailing areas for enhancement or to share with another professional.

Should you decide to move forward, the $50.00 analysis fee will be deducted from your total project price. Services for completing or reviewing a full year of bookkeeping start at $500, and I'm open to discussing flexible payment plans that suit your needs. Let's collaborate to bring order to your financial records, granting you peace of mind to focus on your business.
